God’s Call For Men & Women Part 2 Slideshow for this message PDF Message Download Introduction I recently saw a meme that was describing the progress of life. What’s the evidence that you’re stone cold broke – You have to mow your own lawn What’s the evidence that you are getting richer – You hire someone to mow your lawn What’s the evidence that you have finally arrived – You get to mow your lawn. In other words, when you were broke you HAD to mow the lawn and you hated it but when you finally retired and you have nothing else to do, you GET to mow your lawn and enjoy the simple pleasure of taking care of your property. It’s ironic that the only thing the guy had to do to find happiness was change his perspective. What this shows is that sometimes we spend our entire life trying to get to the thing that is right beneath our noses. I think one of those things that is right beneath our noses is God’s plan for men and women in the home and church. Understandably for many, many people there is hurt from sin, abuse, distortion. I get all that. And even get why people would want to cast off the traditional roles of men and women out of fear that they are going to get hurt. But what if the secret to true human flourishing lies not in erasing differences but in embracing them? What if the only thing that is missing in the equation is our obedient perspective? What if the distinct roles of men and women, woven into the fabric of creation, are not chains to break but gifts to unwrap? From Genesis to Revelation, we see a God who delights in distinction man and woman, headship and submission, strength and tenderness patterned after the very nature of God himself. Imagine a marriage where a husband’s sacrificial leadership echoes Christ’s love for His church, and a wife’s willing partnership radiates the beauty of submission to divine purpose. Picture a church where men and women, each playing their God-given part, create a symphony of service and worship that glorifies the Creator. I want to invite you today to press into this, to learn to love it. Yes, the path isn’t always easy. Sin has warped what God made good, and our scars can make these truths hard to hear. But grace redeems what sin distorts. So our goal for today is to continue looking at this design that God has created, this beautiful thing that is right beneath our noses. Review Just a reminder of what’s ahead. We are here on June 22nd. Next week is our first of four part study on Psalm 119. Then we will have a Q&A sermon. And if you want to submit a question for that sermon or if you want to vote up a question for that sermon all you need to do is go to this website. We won’t be taking live questions that Sunday. It’s just questions you ask leading up to that Sunday that will be a…
