Why did we do this? Because theology matters. Theology determines choices. Every person is a theologian. The only question is what kind of theologian are we going to be, a good one or bad one. Good theology is simply theology that aligns with reality. And of course the reason we want good theology is because to live in a way that contradicts reality will always have consequences. And the longer we live in contradiction to that reality, the greater the consequences. The worst theological statement you can make is there is no God. People who live all of their lives as if there is not God will have the greatest of all possible consequences. Conversely, the best theological statement you can make is everything God says is true. People who live all their lives that way are the most blessed of all. So it’s our hope that creating clarity on our shared understanding of truth will bless us as a church community as we obey. My goal was to clean the house. How did I wind up staring at red beads in Hobby Lobby! That sort of drift, happens in life. Do you have clarity as to what you are doing in your life. Why are you cleaning the house? Well, I’ve got to do it now, because My son or daughter has sports practice and we won’t have time. Why are we spending all this time and money on sports? So they can get a scholarship to a good school? Okay, but why do they need to go to a good school? So, they can get a good job? Why is that important? Because they need to make good money so they can get a good house in a good neighborhood and retire? Why? You see the mission statement of the c…
