Let’s let the Word of God call us to worship this morning. -Many of you come this morning frazzled from a long week. Maybe you’re in an extended trial. You’ve maybe experienced difficulty and suffering and maybe even things that you’ve prayed about for months and years and nothing has changed. You may have difficult relationships that remain unhealed. And you may not feel like praising the goodness of God this morning. – Suffering is terrible. Nobody wants to suffer. We all want to escape suffering. – That’s okay to feel that way. But we need to recall to mind what is true. Remember last week? God taught Jesus obedience through the things he SUFFERED. And if Jesus, the sinless God-man had to suffer in order to learn obedience, how much more so us. – So we come today to be reminded of the goodness of God no matter what it feels like, no matter what you are suffering, no matter what the voices of the world are saying. In our day and age the voice of Jesus to, “follow me,” is just one tiny voice among the millions and millions of people on youtube and instagram and social media who want you to follow them. Everyone wants your attention. Everyone wants your allegiance. Everyone wants a piece of your mind and heart. Everyone wants your money. Everyone want your eyes. They want you to read their book and listen to their podcast. Who should we follow? Is Jesus worth following? Now the way you answer that question is two-fold. In order to determine if someone is worth following you need the answer two question. The first question you need the answer to is this: Where i…
