Opportunities to Move into the Light “The message of Christmas is that the Light of the World has come in the person of Jesus Christ. And the spiritual principle is simple: The more exposure we have to Jesus, the less darkness remains in us. As we head into the New Year, I want to draw your attention to two specific ways you can increase your exposure to that light. First, through Equipping Classes starting January 11th. (You have a flyer about this). This is how we learn to apply the light of Jesus to marriage, parenting, Bible study, and counseling, service and learn about Jesus through the study of various books of the Bible. We want every person to attend both services. I want to remind everyone that in order to accommodate this our service times will be changing at the beginning of the new year, January 4th, one week BEFORE equipping classes begin from 9:30 and 11:00. So that’s the first way to get more light in your life. The second way is through Life Groups starting January 18th. This is where we help one another in community. We walked through the tragic history of the Fall and the long, desperate wait for the promised “Curse Reverser” who would fix what sin had destroyed. Finally, we saw that darkness shattered in Luke 1, when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary revealing that she would be the one to carry the Messiah. In the second week Nathan, helped us strip away our sentimental nativity traditions to walk the gritty, 90-mile road with Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. Instead of a lonely stable, we discovered the Savior was likely born in the chaos of a crowded family home because the “guest room” was full…
